Who We Are
We are a married couple who want to have a family and are seeking to adopt our first child. We met over five years ago, have been together for four and were married in 2015. Despite our best efforts, we were unable to get pregnant, and began to think of adoption as a way to adapt to our situation.
In life things don’t always work out as one hopes or plans – in our case, we didn’t get the chance to complete our family as we dreamed when we decided to marry. Perhaps you are reading this because something in your life is not going as you planned and placing your baby in a loving home is what you decided to do to adapt to your situation. It is our sincerest hope that our adoption will be your solution and adaptation at this time in your life.
More About Brian
I am an easy-going, friendly guy, very social but with no need to be the center of attention – as the youngest of four brothers I got more than my fair share of attention as a child. I work as a financial advisor, helping people save and invest for retirement. Jennifer says that I am the most patient man she has ever known, but also a little “goofy,” maybe because I tend to laugh at my own silly jokes.
In my spare time I like to read and write, go to the beach (we live only minutes away from the ocean), kayak, watch classic films, and get together with good friends. I also volunteer through my church to help with a service for cognitively-impaired adults, who typically live in group homes with constant supervision.
More About Jennifer
I am a creative and energetic professional. I work as a graphic designer. I am also a singer-songwriter, playing guitar and singing for fun and at my church. Brian describes me as very balanced, kind, thoughtful, outgoing and congenial, but the truth is that like many a redhead, I am also passionate and emotional. Besides playing music, I also enjoy reading, the beach, kayaking, yoga, cooking, and watching old classic movies with my sweetheart.
Friends and Family
Our closest group of friends here on Long Island is like extended family to us. We visit with them often and always spend holidays together, unless we’re away visiting relatives. While we’re both close to our siblings, cousins and Jen’s mom, our family mostly lives in other areas of the country. We visit our families often, especially for holidays, and make family vacations a priority.
We both finished college with bachelor’s degrees, and consider education to be very important from pre-school through graduation. We fully intend to make a college education available to our child, if s/he wishes – we hope so!
Brian was raised Catholic, and Jennifer is from a non-religious family. We were both baptized as infants but chose to be baptized again together in late 2015, and have both become very active in our church. We are members and active volunteers at a moderately-sized non-denominational community Christian church, which is very welcoming and accepting of people from all walks of life, and a very low-pressure environment for seekers and believers alike. We’ve made many great new friends here, too!
